Your bankruptcy deserves individual attention
Deciding to file for bankruptcy usually comes at a very stressful time. If it’s done correctly, it might make you feel a lot better, but most people who come into my office have a lot of worries and even more questions. The free consultation I offer is an opportunity to understand if filing for bankruptcy makes sense, the difference between chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcies, and ask questions about things like your credit score and whatever else is on your mind.
Even though the process of filing bankruptcy petitions is routine for me and for my staff, it’s never routine for you. A lot of my job is making sure you have enough information to answer all your questions. There are many myths about bankruptcy, and talking to someone with years of experience practicing in federal bankruptcy court will help you instead learn the facts about bankruptcy.
If you need to talk to me, you will be able to talk to me. It’s as simple as that. I will take your call if I’m available, and I return calls my staff can’t resolve in my absence (and some that they did, just to make sure).
There are so-called “bankruptcy mills” where petitions are filed with very little legal advice (much less comfort) given to the client. Be very suspicious of retaining a firm without actually talking with the attorney who will represent you first. In the worst case, the attorney doesn’t even look at the papers until the meeting of creditors at bankruptcy court. When I meet my clients at court, we already know each other and they know how familiar I am with the particulars of their case.
Bankruptcy is not a time to get advice from an impersonal web site or to be represented through a faceless mill. When you hire Selby Legal PLLC, you will always receive the personal attention you need to make the right decisions for you and your family.
